It’s been all about the theme for us since my last blog – chocolate, Mexican, Halloween and Christmas, you name it and we’ve had it!
We hosted a chocolate themed dinner for a local client as part of Chocolate Week – what’s not to love about a week celebrating one of my favourite things??
But this was no ordinary event – the chocolate theme ran through every aspect of the day from the menu, to quizzes and even a chocolate fountain.
For starters our incredible catering team created “Terry’s Chocolate Orange” – no, not that glorious treat we’ve all come to know and love – but a chicken liver pate coated in an orange jelly and shaped to look like an orange!
The main course was chocolate chilli, and dessert was a dark chocolate plant pot!
Our Mexican themed evening got off to a great start with mojitos and our staff all warmly embraced the sombreros they were given to wear.
For Halloween it was pumpkin carving with some incredible entries, and of course, we’re still busily preparing for Christmas which will soon be upon us. In fact our party nights are already almost fully-booked!
But don’t worry if you haven’t quite sorted your celebrations yet, we’ve still got festive lunch booking slots and New Year’s Eve available!
And it never stops here – this week looks set to be supremely busy for us, particularly for Jill our head housekeeper and her team.
We are changing our linen supplier which as you can imagine is no mean feat when it comes to the number of bedrooms across the Group!
So with 343 bedrooms all needing to be stripped and re-made at the same time, it should be a challenge that pushes us to the limit, but the results will be more than worth it, as the new supplier will help us to deliver an even more comfortable experience to our guests.
The old duvets won’t go to waste either – we’re donating them to local charity the Shropshire Community Project which is a fantastic cause.
It’s all go for me personally too, with my son’s 5th birthday coming up. I’ve planned a party for his friends in our Reynolds Suite but I seem to have let myself in for a mammoth task as he’s just started school, and we’ve invited his entire class!
Hope your Christmas preparations are well under way and that you’re looking forward to the festive season – pop in and see us as we’d love to help you celebrate in style!
Happy Christmas!
Wendy
